Former Dallas Cowboy player Jay Ratliff pleaded guilty last Thursday to driving while intoxicated (DWI).

Ratliff was in an accident back in 2013 and was arrested for driving while intoxicated. At the time of the accident, Ratliff refused to take a breath test. Police then received a search warrant in order to draw Ratliff's blood. It turned out that Ratliff's BAC was .16, which is twice the legal limit here in the state of Texas.

Ratliff will now be serving one year of probation. It appears that this was his first DWI. Offences for a first DWI include a fine not to exceed $2,000, Jail time between 3-180 days, and license suspension for up to two years. In addition, offenders are required to take DWI intervention or educational classes, community service hours and sometimes are assigned ignition interlock devices.
