Violation of Court Order Enjoining Organized Criminal Activity

Chapter 71 of the Texas Penal code defines organized crime offenses.

“Violation of Court Order Enjoining Organized Criminal Activity”, as per § 71.021 of the Texas Penal Code, occurs when a person knowingly violates a temporary or permanent order issued under Section 125.065(a) or (b), Civil Practice and Remedies Code.

If conduct constituting an offense under this section also constitutes an offense under another section of this code, the actor may be prosecuted under either section or under both sections.

An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor.

Punishment Range

Misdemeanor A

  • Confinement in jail for a term not to exceed one year
  • Fine not to exceed $4,000
  • Both such fine and confinement
