Disrupting Meeting or Procession

Chapter 42 of the Texas Penal Code defines disorderly conduct and other related charges.

“Disrupting Meeting or Procession”, as per § 42.05 of the Texas Penal Code, occurs when a person, with intent to prevent or disrupt a lawful meeting, procession, or gathering, he obstructs or interferes with the meeting, procession, or gathering by physical action or verbal utterance.

An offense under this section is a Class B misdemeanor.

Punishment Range

Misdemeanor B

  • Confinement in jail for a term not to exceed 180 days
  • Fine not to exceed $2,000
  • Both such fine and confinement
