Britney graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in English. She later went on to earn her law degree from Texas A&M University School of Law and graduated in the top 5% of her class. While at Texas A&M School of Law, Britney was a member of the Texas A&M Law Review and had the opportunity to serve as an elected member of the Student Bar Association for two years and as the Association’s Vice President her third year.

Britney knew she wanted to practice criminal law long before starting law school. While in school, she gained practical experience as an intern for the Tarrant County, Collin County, and Denton County District Attorney’s Offices. After graduating she went on to work for the Denton County District Attorney’s office for three and a half years before joining the Law Offices of Tim Powers in 2017. While Assistant District Attorney at the Denton County District Attorney’s office Britney was voted Most Valuable Misdemeanor Prosecutor in 2014 and was promoted to Misdemeanor Court Chief in less than a year. Before entering private practice she had the additional opportunity to gain valuable experience in cases involving domestic disputes by working as the Misdemeanor Court Chief for the Family Violence Court.
