Two UNT students were arrested Monday night being found guilty of two BB gun shootings Friday night. The two students are Freshman Raymond Wax (a mechanical engineering student) and Freshman Victor Avina (a chemistry student) are now facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges and are both on bond for $50,000.

According to NTDaily, two UNT students were arrested Monday night being found guilty of two BB gun shootings Friday night. The two students are Freshman Raymond Wax (a mechanical engineering student) and Freshman Victor Avina (a chemistry student) are now facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges and are both on bond for $50,000.

According to Texas Penal Code, it is illegal to carry a fire arm into any high school, collegiate, professional sporting event or interscholastic sporting events, unless the license holder is a participant in the event and a handgun is used in the event. Firearm is also defined as “any device designated, made, or adapted to expel a projectile through a barrel by using the energy generated by an explosion or burning substances or any device readily convertible to that use.” If caught using firearms with an unjust purpose, then one can be charged with a second degree felony and could face two to 20 years in jail and be fines up to $10,000. Or one can be charged with a second degree felony which is a five to 99 years in jail and be fined up to $10,000.
